ABOUT OUR BREEDING PROGRAM
Here at 7F Whitetail Ranch, our advanced breeding program has become the sturdy foundation for a thriving deer herd. Genetically superior does are covered by our very own breeder bucks and fawns are raised directly on site. High quality bred deer are then released into high fenced pastures, adding diversity in size and genetics to our existing breeding lines.
A rigorous and highly studied scientific breeding program instituted in 2014 at 7F Whitetail Ranch helps assure only the best quality of deer for the investment. Using proven breeding methods and allowing nature room to work its wonders, the result is only the best in whitetail deer genetics while our own commitment to excellence produces the highest quality, healthy, heavy antlered deer. Some of the very best breeder buck bloodlines available in the country go into our genetic stock, including Blue 272, son of shadow, scoring 297” @3 and Long Rider, son of Easy Rider, scoring 244” @ 2. Our breeder does also have bloodlines from some of the best females in Texas, such as Triple Crown, Express, Bambi 727, Sudden Express, Tebow, Overnight Express, Easy Rider, and more.

All 7F Whitetail Ranch Texas deer on our ranch are acclimated to South Texas weather, making them hardier and healthier, with hints of Northern genetic influence in our mostly Texas bred deer to increase the bucks’s antler size and maintain a healthy resistance to common South Texas diseases. The overall layout of our large pens is meant to allow deer an increased range of movement for foraging and travel without the need for heavy crowding, which would result in unhealthy, unhappy deer. Each pen ranges in size from one to one and a half acres, are made up of eight and a half foot wire fence, and contain covered shelters to protect both the deer and their feed from the elements when necessary. Alfalfa, high quality protein feed for proven performance and health, and fresh water are all provided to each pen on a continuous, daily basis. And finally, our animal health program helps ensure all animals are in excellent health, with all deer wormed quarterly and vaccinated in a timely manner.
